Pick by turnover and footprint
- Basic Registration: turnover up to ₹12 lakh, single small outlet.
- State Licence: ₹12 lakh to ₹20 crore, or any outlet listed on a delivery aggregator.
- Central Licence: above ₹20 crore, multi-state operations, importers and e-commerce food sellers.
Documents you'll need
- Form B, duly signed, with a passport photo of the proprietor or partners.
- Layout plan of the premises and list of equipment for State/Central.
- Water test report from a NABL-accredited lab for manufacturing units.
- Food safety management plan and a nominated food safety supervisor.
Renewals are where people get caught
Apply at least 30 days before expiry. A lapsed licence means an immediate delisting from aggregator platforms and a fresh application, not a renewal — which costs you weeks of trading.
